United Trustees Association’s Political Action Committee (CTA-PAC)

The United Trustees Association’s Political Action Committee (CTA-PAC) was formed to increase our legislative presence and become more effective in Sacramento, California as well as facilitate our Legislative Advocate’s job. The CTA-PAC name remains unchanged from when our association was the California Trustees’ Association, and all money contributed will be used for California activities.

The CTA-PAC raises funds throughout the year and contributes to various candidates for the California State Senate and Assembly. We are still very fortunate to have Michael Belote, Esq. with California Advocates as our Legislative Advocate. California Advocates continues to provide excellent representation for UTA and has helped our organization to be a recognized force in Sacramento.

Please remember with term limits, UTA is constantly re-educating legislators on the role trustees play in real estate finance.

Fundraising for the CTA-PAC is a constant challenge. One forum for fundraising is the Annual Education Conference. Our past CTA-PAC chairs have done tremendous jobs at the past conferences. With numerous raffles and silent auctions, each fundraising event has been a huge success. Broad-based industry support for the CTA-PAC will be the key to its continued role in Sacramento.

Legislative topics will require leadership and political involvement by the UTA Membership. Participation in the CTA-PAC is entirely voluntary, however all members are eligible and encouraged to donate for the common benefit of our profession.

Please join UTA in this important effort to maintain and improve the trustee profession in California. We encourage you to support the CTA-PAC whenever possible.
